On 12 Oct. 2010, director-general of CCAA, Mr. Zhang Shifeng, deputy director-general, Ms. Chu Xiaoying and deputy director-general, Ms. Gan Weiwei met in the CCAA with ambassador for international adoptions and chief of Service for Adoption International (SAI) France, Mr. Jean-Paul MONCHAU and his colleagues, director of the International Strategic Office at the SAI, Ms. Anne DENIS-BLANCHARDON, and vice consul at the French Embassy in China, Ms. Marie-Louise BOULOGNE. Ambassador MONCHAU made an introduction about the setting-up background of SAI and its functions as the central authority for international adoptions. He also had an optimistic perspective over the future cooperation between China and France for international adoptions. Director-general, Zhang Shifeng, provided information about the international adoption programme in China, especially CCAA¡¯s practice of placing children with special needs. He pointed out that there existed a lot more space for cooperation in respect of international adoptions between China and France and the two countries could even develop more cooperation in the future for child welfare as well as for protection of child interests. |
