Yangzhou Children¡¯s Welfare Institute
Yangzhou Children¡¯s Welfare Institute is located along a picturesque harbor front, filled will cornus officinalis. It is mainly responsible for taking care of abandoned infants, orphaned children and children with disability in the area of Yangzhou district. It began as a baby care center in the last era of the Qing Dynasty (1880s), and used to be an independent institute for infants and children in Yangzhou.

In 1968, it merged with Yangzhou Social Welfare Institute, and moved to its current location in 1982. In the 1990s, under the care and support from government and local and international community, our institute has undergone rapid development, continuous expansion, and gradually-perfected functions and has realized our initial goal to professionalism. In 1999, Yangzhou Children¡¯s Welfare Institute was officially established. Currently, the Children¡¯s Welfare Institute has an area of 4000 square meters, divided into different service areas for daily care, education, rehab, and recreational facilities. There are over 200 beds accommodating nearly 200 infants and children. Our center provides a variety of services and facilities for daily life, recreation, education and medical health, along with a team of outstanding medical and educational expertise, which can achieve our goal of feeding with scientific methods, divisional management, and divisional care suiting the needs of different levels.

Over the years, relentlessly following our mission of ¡°Everything for the children¡±, we have assertively opened up domestic adoption, and in 1989, with domestic adoption as our base, we stepped forward and further explore our work in inter-country adoption. For over a decade, we have had people from Canada, U.S., Australia, Holland, Norway, Spain, Sweden, UK, and Finland amongst other countries come to our institute for adoption, a total of more than 1000 abandoned infants had returned to a warm and loving home.
