A CCAA delegation led by Deputy Director Zhang Zhong visited Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden on invitation. This trip, lasting from June 8th to 21st, involved two major events: the attendance of the international seminar held by Holland International Children Social Welfare Institution. The delegation also attended the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Sweden International Adoption Families Association.

During the visit, the delegation met with governmental authorities in charge of international adoption in these countries, including the Adoption Bureau of Denmark and the Adoption Bureau of Sweden. The delegation also visited five adoption organizations, as well as attending three large family gatherings which had about 1000 adoptive families and 900 adopted Chinese children in total. In addition, they also attended a unique concert that was performed solely by adult adoptees.

The delegation was able to gather information on the structures and functions of adoption organizations in these three countries. They also looked into the possibilities of importing the ¡°Healthy Heart¡± and ¡°Healthy Feet¡± programs (Bosaidi therapeutics for younger children with foot deformities) to the Chinese social welfare institutes. The delegation met with the staff from the Chinese Embassies in the three countries and listened to their comments and suggestions regarding international adoption. This meeting proved to be a positive opportunity to enhance communication and learning opportunities between the CCAA and the adoption communities in these countries.
