What are the General Requirements for Creating a Post Placement Report?

1. Adopting countries or adoptive agencies submitting the adoption dossier must submit post placement reports to the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA) in accordance with the required format of time limit and criteria.

2. The content of a post placement report must be truthful, detailed, and comprehensive and must faithfully record what the social worker sees and hears in the home visit. It must include an objective reaction to the adopted child¡¯s life in the adopting country and growth situation, with emphasis on the adopted child¡¯s citizenship status and bonding with the adoptive parents, family, and community. For special needs children, medical treatment and health status must be included.

3. Post placement reports must contain signatures of both the social worker and person in charge at the adoption agency.

4. Post placement reports must be translated into Chinese or entrusted to the CCAA to translate. The translation must be an accurate translation of the original.
