According to Hague Convention regulations, the sending adoptive country may require the receiving adoptive country to provide post placement reports in a certain timeline, according to the sending country¡¯s laws and regulations. In keeping with the spirit of the Hague Convention, the CCAA will continue to uphold its previous requirements for submitting post placement reports. In addition, the CCAA will attach further importance to post-adoption tracking efforts and the work of post placement reports submitted by adoptive families.
China¡¯s Adoption Law stipulates that ¡°adoption should be beneficial for the care and growth of minor adoptive children,¡± and the Hague Convention ¡°ensures that intercountry adoption accords with the best interests of the child and respects internationally acknowledged basic rights of the child¡± as tenets of the Hague Convention. Our requirements for the submission of post placement reports by foreign adoption organizations are in keeping with these fundamental tenets. Whether or not post-adoption tracking service is consciously carried out is an important guideline in the measure of an adoption organization¡¯s ability to put the interests of children first.
